Self-Drive to Skyrail Smithfield

Start your day by driving to the Skyrail Smithfield Terminal, where you can park your car for free. Upon arrival, check in with a Down Under Tours representative to receive your Kuranda Boarding Pass. This pass includes your tickets and a detailed itinerary, making your journey seamless.

Kuranda Scenic Rail Journey

Board a coach for a transfer to Freshwater Station, where you will embark on the Kuranda Scenic Rail. This historic railway offers a unique journey through the rainforest, passing spectacular waterfalls and the Barron Gorge. The train ride provides a glimpse into the area's natural beauty and engineering marvels.

Explore Kuranda Village

Once you arrive in Kuranda, enjoy some free time to explore the village. Visit the Heritage Markets, open daily, or use the discount vouchers included in your boarding pass. The village offers various attractions, including the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary, Birdworld, and Kuranda Koala Gardens, as well as numerous cafes and restaurants.

Skyrail Rainforest Cableway

At the designated time, board the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway for your return journey. This cableway provides an aerial view of the rainforest, with two stops along the way for you to disembark and explore the Red Peak and Barron Falls boardwalks. The journey offers a unique perspective on the world's oldest continually surviving tropical rainforest.

Return to Skyrail Smithfield

Conclude your tour by arriving back at the Skyrail Smithfield Terminal, where your car will be waiting for you.

• 8:50 Train - 12:45 Skyrail from $185 Ideal for those with their own car, this option includes a scenic rail journey to Kuranda and an early afternoon return via Skyrail. Enjoy free time in Kuranda village before boarding the Skyrail at 12:45.
• 8:50 Train - 01:45 Skyrail from $185 Perfect for self-drivers, this option offers a scenic rail trip to Kuranda with a later Skyrail return. Spend extra time exploring Kuranda village before the 1:45 Skyrail departure.

Meeting point

Drive yourself to the Skyrail Smithfield Terminal, located at 6 Skyrail Drive, Smithfield. Check in with a representative at the bus zone in front of the terminal. Departure for both options is at 7:50am. Your car can be parked for free for the day.
