Guests begin their adventure by checking in at the Sunlover desk at the Reef Fleet Terminal in Cairns. Boarding starts shortly after, with the ferry departing from Cairns Marina. The journey to Fitzroy Island is aboard a modern, air-conditioned catamaran, ensuring a comfortable ride.

Exploring Fitzroy Island

Upon arrival at Fitzroy Island, guests have the freedom to explore the island at their own pace. Popular activities include visiting the picturesque Nudey Beach, walking through the island's National Park trails, or simply relaxing by the water. Those interested in marine life can book snorkeling or glass bottom boat tours separately.

Return to Cairns

After a day of exploration and relaxation, the return ferry departs Fitzroy Island, bringing guests back to Cairns Marina.

Meeting point

Make your own way to the Sunlover Desk at the Reef Fleet Terminal in Cairns Marina for the ferry transfer to Fitzroy Island. There is one departure each morning. The exact meeting point and time will be confirmed when you select your date.

Accessibility

Wheelchair Accessibility on Sunlover Reef Cruises

Standard manual wheelchairs (approx. 14–20 kg) and lightweight chairs (5–20 kg) Suitable for boarding. Crew can assist with lifting and recommend boarding early so they can help with seating and access.

Small electric wheelchairs under 21 kg Can be brought onboard. Please plan to board first so crew can assist safely.

Heavier electric wheelchairs (21–30 kg) and bariatric manual chairs (20–34 kg) Not recommended, as they exceed the crew’s safe lifting capacity. A manual wheelchair or walker is suggested instead.

Electric wheelchairs over 30 kg and tilt‑recline chairs Cannot be brought onboard.

Mobility scooters Not suitable for any Sunlover vessel. A manual wheelchair or walker is recommended depending on your mobility needs and chosen tour.
